There are three CI programs that provide food and shelter to local residents in need. Community Lunch, with 130 volunteers this year, served lunch to 2900 people at a local church. Forty five (45) volunteer members of Project for the Homeless supervised 2 homeless shelters that provided sleeping accommodations to 45 residents. Twenty Habitat for Humanity volunteers partnered with local groups to restore houses damaged in Hurricane Sandy. A fourth program, Advocacy Coalition, advocates for residents in need of social services including housing, employment and health insurance and provides referrals to appropriate agencies.

There are many ways for you to get involved!  If you are interested in volunteering in any of these programs complete http://communityimpact.columbia.edu/get-involved/interested.
